MEADOWLARK OPTICS IS CURRENTLY SEEKING QUALIFIED APPLICANTS FOR THE FOLLOWING POSITIONS

The Software Engineer will work with our liquid crystal spatial light modulator product line to support and expand capabilities of existing and future products. This involves working at all levels of the software interface. As the software is expanded documentation must be maintained, and customers must be supported for software related issues. Additionally, work on internal tools to facilitate testing, and quantification of product specifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support and implement new software capabilities for new and existing products
  • Maintain revision controls and well documented revision history using GitHub
  • Provide friendly customer support on the software
  • Fault-test software
  • Work with optical engineers to develop in house tools for product testing
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering or related
  • Strong C++ (Visual Studio 2015), OpenCL skills required.
  • Experience with Matlab, LabVIEW, and Python desired
  • Experience developing device drivers for PCIe hardware preferred
  • Experience with GitHub or similar revision control tools
  • Experience with installers, preferably using WiX Toolset preferred
  • Linux, a plus
  • Experience using electrical test equipment a plus

The Solutions Engineer will provide both pre- and post-sales support for our growing customer base. She/He will be responsible for the technical relationships with customers and prospects. The Solutions Engineer will work internally with product development and engineering to identify and communicate solutions to meet customer requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Promote sales of Meadowlark products within an assigned territory
  • Act as primary contact for Meadowlark with customers
  • Discuss technical tradeoffs and advise customers on technical issues
  • Interface with Manufacturing Engineering and/or Product Development to meet customer specifications
  • Manage business aspects of each project to ensure both Meadowlark and the customer needs are met
  • Represent Meadowlark at trade shows
  • Travel as needed
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
  • BS in Engineering, Physics, or other related physical science field
  • Ability to acquire technical knowledge of Meadowlark products
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Able to perform duties without detailed direction or supervision
  • Works well independently and as part of a team
  • Must be able to compose detailed correspondence
PRIMARY TASKS

To fabricate and polish all standard and custom parts using knowledge of all hand tools as well as the heavy equipment; to assure adherence to specifications and quality requirements. Follow the production schedule and meet internal and external lead times and goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Shape, Grind and Polish all glass substrates to a minimum of 20/10 SQ and ?/10 wave flatness.
  • Maintain high levels of quality on standard parts and track quality
  • Provide attainable production goals to assist product scheduling
  • Maintain high production levels for standard parts
  • Work to Production Schedule to meet customer due date
  • Schedule jobs to maximize man and machine hours
  • Work on continuous improvement of procedures
  • Test procedures for new product development
  • Develop and implement cost control procedures
SKILLS NEEDED
  • Understanding of ISO 9001
  • Ability to communicate production issues to management and staff
  • Experience with:
    • Shaping and grinding of optical glass
    • Double-Sided and Lap Polishing (both pitch and pad)
    • Use of all metrology and inspection tools
    • Knowledge of scratch/dig specifications
EDUCATION
  • High school diploma
  • Mechanical aptitude with ability to troubleshoot machine issues
