Our Liquid Crystal Polarization Rotator continuously rotates the polarized direction of a monochromatic, linearly polarized input beam. Our design consists of our Liquid Crystal Variable Retarder combined with a zero-order polymer quarter-wave retarder. The fast axis of one retarder is oriented at 45° to the slow axis of the second. Benefits of the product also include its high-power capability and high polarization purity.
Meadowlark provides test data that includes the required voltages corresponding to polarization orientations from approximately -40° to approximately 140° rotation in 10° increments. These measurements are taken at room temperature for your specified wavelength.
Please telephone Meadowlark if you require an input polarizer, as this is not included with our standard liquid crystal polarization rotator. Please note that, for optimum performance, input polarization direction must be precisely aligned.
