Pockels cells, the product that inspired Meadowlark’s beginning, has a design that is a highly custom device made only by Meadowlark. Our design uses a thin crystal KD*P of about 3 mm thickness that works well in an imaging beam or other uncollimated beam. Pockels cells require up to 4,000 volts to operate and switch at a much greater speed than liquid crystals.
